SELECTION PROCESS

The Year 2006 Presidential Awards will be selected from among the nominations which will be evaluated through the following stages of review and screening

First Stage
Review, Validation, Recommendation

The Awards Committees shall review and summarize all nominations, verify compliance with all the required documentations, request for additional documents and endorse nomination documents to the Technical Committee.
Second Stage
Evaluation and Short List of Nominations

The Technical Committee shall evaluate all nomination documents and prepare a short-list of nominees based on agreed rating scheme. It shall endorse the short list to the Executive Committee. The Awards Secretariat may change the award category for which a nominee was initially nominated, as appropriate.
Third Stage
Endorsement of Short List of Nominees to the President

The Executive Committee reviews and evaluates the shortlisted nominees as submitted by the Technical Committee. After review and evaluation, it shall either endorse the Technical Committee’s shortlisted nominees, or make its recommendations before endorsing the same to the Office of the President.
Fourth Stage
Final Selection and Approval of the President

The President approves the final list of awardees.
 
Awards Committee at the Philippine Embassies and Consulates

            Head of Post
     Representative(s) from the Filpino community


Upon the discretion of the Head of the Diplomatic or Consular Post, the membership and composition of the Awards Committee may be revised and expanded up to a maximum of six (6) members.
Technical Committee

Chairman :
   One representative from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas

Members :
   One representative from the Commission on Filipinos Overseas
   Two representative from the Department of Foreign Affairs
   One representative from the Department of Science and Technology
   One representative from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts
   One representative from the academe
