Saudi OFW leaps from 2nd floor of boss' house -- The Philippine Star
MANILA, Philippines - An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) ended up in a hospital after she jumped from the 2nd floor of her employer's house in Saudi Arabia, a group today disclosed.
Migrante-Middle East said Hadeah Macalpang, 33, a native of Lanao Del Norte, is now confined at the King Fahad hospital, in Al-Khobar, eastern City of Saudi Arabia with a broken left leg and a fractured hip due to her fall from the building.
During questioning, Macalpang said she was trying to escape her abusive employer last September 5.
She said she already finished her contract, but has been working for two years and four months.
"She said her employer didn't allow her to go home despite her pleading," the group said.
Macalpang also claimed she only received 4,700 Saudi rials, roughly around P56,640, for her over two-year service.
Migrante is now appealing to the Philippine embassy in Saudi Arabia for the immediate repatriation and assistance to Macalpang.
