CFOlympics 2012: Quest of Champions

Employees of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas unfurled their team colors during the opening ceremony of the 2012 CFOlympics last 08 June 2012. Usec. Mary Grace A. Tirona, CFO Executive Director, remarked the importance of de-stressing through physical activities to invigorate oneself. She reminded everyone to be respectful and fair even while at play and to remember the objective of the sportfests is to strengthen relationship among peers.
Taking off from the theme of the 2012 teambuilding activities, this year's theme is entitled "Quest of Champions"; to emphasize that all employees are considered champions for their contribution to the attainment of the goals of the agency. The teams competing for the top prize are the Red Temptations, Blue's Clues, Green Matador, and Yelo1der.
The sportsfest is one of the activities in celebration of CFO's 32nd Anniversary on 16 June 2012. It is also part of the employees' development program of the Commission aimed to harness both the physical and mental skills of its personnel. The activities are meant to develop stronger camaraderie among the participants through various sports competitions.
Immediately following the opening ceremony, the players competed in two events. Representatives from each team played table tennis, while others battled for supremacy in friendly match of the "snakes and ladders" board game. Fellow team members cheered on their teammates while eagerly waiting for the results.
The CFOlympics will run from June 18 to July 13. The games include basketball, volleyball, badminton, dama, chess, scrabble, darts, and virtual games through Wii Sports and X-Box Kinect.
