EVP Skills List

The Exchange Visitors Skills List is a directory of skills maintained by the USIA which indicate the skills that are short in supply, and therefore very much needed, in participating countries of the EVP. Educational/training opportunities contained in the skills list are automatically covered by the two-year home-country physical presence requirement.

The Skills list was originally published in the Federal Register on 25 April 1972. The list has been revised many times since. The revision of the list is a lengthy process requiring direct correspondence with all participating countries, consideration by the appropriate authorities of those countries, and the formal notification to the USIA. The Philippines skills list was last updated in 1996 and duly incorporated in the General Skills list effective April 1997.
