Overseas Voting Registration Center Opens at CFO

August 1, 2014 – Emigrants, OFWs, and vacationing migrants may now register as overseas voter at the Commission on Filipinos Overseas – Manila. 

As part of the government's extensive campaign to encourage overseas Filipinos to register and vote for the upcoming elections, the Commission on Elections, Department of Foreign Affairs and CFO formally opens the second Overseas Voters Registration Center at CFO Manila on August 1, 2014. The event was graced by CFO Secretary Imelda M. Nicolas, COMELEC Commissioner Lucenito Tagle, DFA Underscecretary Rafael Seguis, and CFO Executive Director Mary Grace Tirona. The first Registration Center was launched last June 2014 at the Office of Consular Affairs, ASEANA Business Park in Pasay City.

MANILA, Philippines–Senate President Franklin Drilon has called on the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to fast-track the adoption of measures that would allow some 12 million overseas Filipinos to register and vote online for their favored candidates in the 2016 elections.
